GeRuNd

kata CAMBRIDGE istilah gerund /ˈdʒer. ə nd/ noun
dan hal tersebut memiliki pengertian ;
" a word that ends in '-ing' which is made from a verb, and which is used like a noun "
(sebuah kata yang berakhiran '-ing' yang terbuat dari kata kerja, dan yang digunakan seperti kata benda)
sebagai contohnya;
1. 'Everyone enjoyed Tyler's singing', the word 'singing' is a gerund.
2. Playing games in the park is fun. the word 'playing' is a gerund.


kegunaan gerund 

A. GERUND AS SUBJECT (gerund sebagai subject)

Apabila Gerund sebagai Subject, maka Gerund dapat berdiri sendiri atau 
berbentuk sebagai frase.

Playing football is my hobby. è kata “playing” pada kalimat TERSEBUT adalah sebagai Gerund, yang berfungsi sebagai kata benda (Noun).

PERHATIKAN contoh selanjud na;
a. Reading is not my hobby.
b. Swimming is better than running.
c. Hiking can be very strenuous.
d. Binging is a phase frequently done by a bulimic.


B. GERUND AS OBJECT

PENGGUNAAN GERUND Sebagai Object of Verb (Object Kata Kerja)
Formula: VERB + Gerund (Verb + Ing)

a. I go shopping with my friends.
b. I enjoy playing tennis.
c. Brian quit smoking.
d. Brian give up smoking.
e.    I hope they enjoy my writing.
f. hate waiting.


C. GERUND AS OBJECT PREPOSITION

Dalam hal ini, kita harus ingat tentang preposition neehhh

"They disscussed an article about telling the truth."
"The manager scolded the worker for removing some substantial data."
